Memory of Kate (Ferrell) Asbury

Hello to the family/parents of Jared Badger,

I am so sorry to hear of your loss.  I was in the MTC with Elder Badger, one of 3 of us learning Lithuanian, I was Sister Ferrell back then.  He was very bright as you know, and yes, I was amazed at how he learned the language, though I never saw him study it.  L  I hope he finds peace and happiness where he is now, and I hope that you have peace in your hearts through this tragedy.  It gets easier with time.

Best Wishes,
Kate

Memory of Aaron Nelson

Hello,

I just wanted to share this photo.  Jared and I served together in the summer of 1997 in Kaunas, Lithuania.  It was a fantastic summer - we were "on a roll" - teaching and baptizing at a pace that hadn't been seen there in a long time. I suppose it goes without saying that Jared had a huge role in that success.

I wasn't called as a Lithuanian speaking missionary (I started speaking Russian and added Lithuanian after a few months in country).  Jared was, without question, the most knowledgeable Lithuanian speaker in the mission - and he was always happy to help explain things to a novice.

My condolences for your loss.

Memory of Angie Poulsen

Just this past August I had the pleasure of meeting Jared in Portland, Oregon for the Hood to Coast Race.  He was in our van and one of the 13 runners on our team.  I only knew him for 2 days, but in that short time I was blessed to have the opportunity to see him for the kind, intelligent, thoughtful and funny individual that he was.  It was a delight to get to spend a little time with him and he talked fondly of his family, his time in Lithuania, at BYU and other travel experiences.  Though I barely knew him, we were so saddened to learn of his passing.  Your family is in our thoughts and prayers.
